GET WILD 300HR Yoga Teacher TRAINING

Teaching yoga is an ancient healing art steeped in thousands of years of tradition. Teaching yoga is also an adaptive, ever-evolving, experimental and creative art that finds its unique and modern expression in YOU.

The overarching learning objective for this course is simple: to provide you with a deeper and more nuanced understanding of this art so that you are better able to see the individual student in front of you, to respond to the unique needs of the moment, and therefore to more effectively and skillfully serve.

Often when we begin teaching, we follow a “Simon Says” model, memorizing sequences and repeating word for word as best we can the instructions we have heard from the teachers who are beloved to us.  Perhaps we have even been trained to teach this way. It is our hope that this course will provide you with a comprehensive enough understanding of the structure and function of the human body and how it relates to the astonishing kaleidoscope of movements we call yoga asana that you are better able to discern what your individual students need and what will best serve their ongoing evolution and growth.

Ironically the more we commit to furthering our own education as teachers, the easier it becomes to let go of what we know and to really begin to listen and see.  In this training you will be encouraged to abandon a formulaic approach, to learn to think on your feet, and to tune in with greater sensitivity and insight to the experience of your students. It is our hope that this course will increase your self-confidence, allowing you to slough off those pesky layers of self-doubt so that you can embrace your roles as teachers with a tremendous sense of inner freedom and reward.  When this happens, joy, spontaneity, intuition, and creativity begin to lead the way and teaching becomes immeasurably more fun.

In keeping with tradition, this training will emphasize the three components of tapas, svadhyaya and isvara pranidhana.  There will be an intensive practice component (tapas) throughout.  In-depth study of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita will take you through a rigorous process of self-inquiry (svadhyaya) which we hope will be life-enhancing and which we believe will increase the potency of your teaching by providing it with a deep root system.  The surrender (isvara pranidhana) in this case will be to the group itself – to fostering a spirit of collaboration in the learning environment and to celebrating each other’s successes and milestones along the way. We have seen time and again, the power of the group to unearth hidden potential and to initiate positive transformation in the lives of its members.

You will have the opportunity to investigate, integrate, and immediately apply what you have learned to your practice and to your teaching.

Our approach is non-dogmatic and inclusive. We wish to dismantle the idea that there is a right way and a wrong way of doing things in favor of nurturing a sense of boundless curiosity.  We hope to create a safe environment in which you feel free to ask questions and to develop both the competence and confidence to arrive at your own conclusions. Students of all lineages are welcome.

Included in your 300HR Teacher Training

Our teacher training program creates the opportunity for students to form a steadfast foundation in their own personal practice and understanding of self, while leaning into the support and vulnerability of the cohort community.

We encourage our teachers to get curious, to ask why, to dig deeper, and not just go through the motions of teaching and living.

What you will learn

Deepening Your Personal Practice - The retreat portion of the training is a deep immersion into various modalities and practices that we will study over the following 9+ months. This allows you as the teacher, to teach from experience and embodiment of the practices rather than strictly from a textbook understanding.

Kinesiology Primer - The Kinesiology Primer transcends traditional anatomy by examining the human body as a unified, dynamic system driven by the interconnected relationship of connective tissues, joints, muscles, and the nervous system. You will investigate how biomechanical forces, such as gravity and repetitive motion, influence tensegrity, shape posture, and create compensatory movement patterns. This foundational coursework connects theory with practical application, preparing you to assess functional mobility and guide your students toward sustainable structural balance.

Asana Lab - Dive into an embodied experience of anatomy as it relates to yoga postures in a fun, empowering and illuminating way.  Study alignment, functionality, modifications, safety, and break down postures and transitions to support you as a teacher.

Advanced sequencing - Teachings will focus on intentional breath, the impact of transitions, elements of flow, sequencing with purpose and education, finding your voice, and more. Study various formats, how to play in the grey area, receive templates to set yourself up for success, have opportunities to write & teach your own sequences followed by thoughtful feedback to expand your sequencing ability and overall class experience.

Pranayama - Interwoven throughout your training; expect to grow in your own personal pranayama practice, while learning how to safely and effectively guide others.

Meditation - Various meditation styles and opportunities will be threaded throughout the retreat and extended training.

Yoga Sutras - Study in depth the Yoga Sutras, beginning at our 9 day retreat. We will take the time to understand and digest the philosophy in both a personal and group setting, reflecting on the traditional meanings and how it relates to us today.

Bhagavad Gita - We will journey together through the Bhagavad Gita through self-reflection, intimate discussion, and storytelling. We’ll bring the meaning of this sacred poem to life in a way that is personal and relevant to us today.

Yin Yoga- This Yin Yoga module unpacks the physical and energetic benefits of a yielding, contemplative practice designed to perfectly counterbalance our fast-paced modern lifestyles. By learning to apply slow, steady stress to the body's deeper connective tissues—such as fascia, ligaments, and joints—you will discover how to safely restore range of motion, hydrate tissues, and improve the resilience of the fascial web. Mastering these foundational principles will allow you to lead students toward profound physical release, emotional equilibrium, and inner stillness.

Traditional Chinese Medicine- Our Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) curriculum provides a comprehensive look at the Five Elements—Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water—and their corresponding meridian pathways to help cultivate energetic balance. Throughout this segment, you will learn to harmonize these subtle networks by integrating targeted yoga practices and specific acupressure points into your therapeutic toolkit. Combined with Yin-Yang theory, this framework offers a holistic lens for understanding health, enabling you to support your students' emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.

Yoga Nidra - The Yoga Nidra module offers a deep dive into this healing and transformative practice by uniting its traditional philosophical roots, such as Pancha Kosha theory, with modern Western science, including neuroplasticity and autonomic nervous system regulation. You will gain a keen understanding of teaching methodology—from optimal prop setups to detailed sequencing templates—giving you the tools to guide students effectively through the deepest stages of conscious relaxation.

“To be fully alive, fully human, and completely awake is to be continually thrown out of the nest. To live fully is to be always in no-man's-land, to experience each moment as completely new and fresh. To live is to be willing to die over and over again. ”
